An Israeli Prime Minister`s fantasies we have seen not long ago with disastrous results, on both sides, of a stupid war. The incompetence and silliness of his Defense Minister, who simply did inanely what he was told by the PM, was THE major reason of the calamity. That shows the importance of a top Defense Minister in Israel: in times of serious conflict, he is just as important as the Prime Minister, if not more so.
Right now, the present Defense Minister is the best possible that Israel can have, regardless of who the PM will be. Therefore, in matters of war, a wise PM should defer judgement to the DM, or at least, discuss such matters quietly! |
