My Diplomat-English dictionary says this means Syria is waiting for the Bush junta to be retired before doing any serious talking. The excuse is that Israel has not `clarified` it`s position.
Of course how can Israel `clarify` it`s position while it is waiting out the clock for the upcoming elections.
Thus the position expressed in Al-Hayat translates to: "No use talking until we know who we will be talking to." |
