| Syria has never been offered the return of the Golan except as a stunt. Some years ago there was a rumor that Israel offered to return the Golan to Syria after 10 years good behavior on the part of Syria. Things like these are not serious offers. Israel has also armed third parties. Arming and traininf Fatah against Hamas is one example. Is it ok for Israel to do this and not for Syria? You say that Israel bombed a "suspected nuclear plant"? Is this the same as a genuine nuclear plant or is it a publicity stunt? The good news for Syria is that they do not need an immediate return of the Golan. They can wait another forty years if necessary. Israel cannot wait another forty years to deal with Iran. Before this can happen, Israel needs peace with Syria. |
