Is the US the poorest country in the world? According to this report it should be if obesity, diabetes and heart desease are illnesses of the poor. All people in Bangladesh (one of the poorest nations in the world) should all be obese but somehow they are not.
In the Arab world, they prefer that the women do not work. Has the author of the report been to Egypt, for instance. Cairo`s streets are relatively empty considering that 20 milj people live there. The women stay at home most of the time. Go to any Arab country or even an Arab town in Israel and you will not see many women in the work place. It is a cultural matter.
Statistics are always manipulated to fit a cause. Statistics and facts are not necessarily the same. The way statistics are gathered as well as they way they are interpreted can be very sugjective. |
