| Many of us who got a quality education understand why the NATO was formed and by the same token understand how the mission has changed and morphed. NATO itself made an assessment by Robert G. Bell in 2005 who said that NATO had to go "out of area" or "out of mission". I do think that it is playing with fire to tamper with the feelings of the original parties. Has article six been changed yet? The treaty itself is pretty clear and certainly a useful organization. But perhaps it is necessary to have a rapid proaction and reactionary force ready to move quickly to defend a member state. This idea needs to be codified with a rename... Regular UN blue helmets can be the holding force *after* the NATO transformed into the HRTO (Human Rights Treaty Organization) has finished making the place at least safe under international military rule... |
