Saakashvili only tried to put an end to South Ossezia`s secessionist pushes, feed by Russian money and weapons. Imagine if Austria encouraged South Tyrol (we call it "Alto Adige") secessionism from Italy and fomented terrorism against Italian citizens: if Italy reacted sending troops to stop the rebellion, should we expect a war initiated by Austria, and no assistance from our NATO partners? |
