Israel has the ability to deal with major terrorist rescue missions the only thing it lacks is a government with the courage to allow the IDF to use their skills and thats why Gilad Shalit is still a hostage.
Instead of doing deals with Hamas the Israeli government should have cut off all supplies of gas, electricity and everything except basic medical and food supplies.
Bring the terrorists to their knees and then demand that he is released no compromise and if they refuse their should have been a military operation simply to send the message if you take Israeli citizens we don`t do deals we hurt you and if you don`t want us to hurt you then release Gilad Shalit and don`t get any ideas about trying anything like that again.
