Anshel Pfeffer: JEWISH WORLD / What American Jews don't get about Israelis
Talkback
Title:Purpose of being a jew
Name:Shlomo
City: MadridState: Spain
For all the secular among us(myself included):
For the ones in the diaspora:
-Beside ensuring continuity, and following some nice traditions, and feeling part of something, is there any higher purpose of being jewish?
For those in Israel:
-if the purpose of Israel, is to be able to wake up in morning, speak hebrew, and having a day off on Saturday and other jewish holidays, then I wonder it is all worthwhile the effort, all the deads, the suffering, discrimination including these caused upon others
Is there any meaningful difference between a secular Israeli jew in Israel, and secular italian in Italy.
