My kids had very Israeli Jewish kids over the other day. When it came to giving them something to eat, these kids did not have a clue about kosher eating. By the blank look on their faces it was clear that they have never even heard of it. I would probably get the same response from a kid living in the Amazon.
The most important thing that the American Jews do not get about Israeli Jews is that the Israelis only see the cash in the pockets of the American Jews. They see them as large financial contributors to Israel, they see their American family as free holiday accommodation, they notice their accomplishments so that they can say: "he/she is a Jew".
The link between Israeli Jews and American Jews is more financial than Jewish. |
