Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent: Haredi parties absent from Jerusalem coalition for first time in decades
Talkback
Title:Why are we so threatened and intimidated.

The attitudes have always been "get a job", "they don`t do the army", "they don`t like us" etc. Having worked closely for years with Hasidim and Hareidim here and in Israel, knowing how to respect their eating and modesty, etc, I find nothing but positive friendship. Regretably most secular Jews and now regretably coloured kippas are cutting these folks out, and this is the culmination. These people are our future, our backbone, flying our flag, while we don our jeans and t-shirts, these guys are "out the closet". It is incredible that we are so threatened and intimidated. Maybe we would be more comfortable forming a council with Muslim terrorists? One thing, you won`t get blown up by bunch of rabbis.
