| "Why not ME Nuke Free zone? Israel should destroy its nukes first in order to live in peace with its neighbours." - Antonio da Silva Israe`s nukes are not amongst the causes of war in the region. They are in fact a stabilizing force. The `alleged` (I love saying that) Israeli atomic weapons have deterred any attempt by any nation to invade or attack Israel for 35 years. This has not prevented other nations from using proxies to counter Israel`s nukes, but those proxies serve other purposes, such as deterring Israel from trying to drive to Beirut or Damascus. The primary causes of the war rest in the distant past. The main reason it continues? Because it has been going on for sol long few can imagine ending it. The major dispute now is whether Israel will absorb the Judea and Samaria district of Israel or whether that will become part of Palestine. |
