As l sat in meditation one morning and looked thoughtfully at the sun. The sun is one evidence of creation that lives on as it were, whether it wears out or not what l know is that if Adam sat at the same position that l sit now and the same moment and time many many years ago, he saw the sun appear and disappear over the horizon same way as l do. God said ?let there be light and there was light? Genesis 1:3. Then many years later the faithful servant sun faithfully at its daily task , God asked Job ?where were you when l laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me if you have understanding.? Job38:4 Today a completely different man from Adam in terms of time and conflict makes the sun laugh its head off by asking ?why should there be a thanks giving day? If l have nothing else to thank God for l will thank Him for the faithful sun and all the benefits that entail it and wonders that l have no idea of but need to give thanks for.
When we thank God we look up for an infinity of opportunities and favor, when we grumble and accuse each other and fight we look down where we shall ones have our body neatly tuck or else. I will thank God and trust on him for better days ahead hopefully all of us and not only on thanksgiving day but every time l have a chance. |
