| In the northern countries there is no widespread antisemitism, I am certain of it. There are isolated cases, like in Israel with its neo-nazis recently sentenced to prison. But because of isolated cases we cannot say that Scandinavian countries are antisemite. On the other hand, they are very harsh to criticize Israel, sometimes so unfairly that one can say that the Scandinavian countries are anti-Israeli. But Jews are not discriminated against in Scandinavia, nor Israelis. It is only that some Israeli policies are not accepted. But that is what democracy is all about. You can agree or disagree, and either way doesn`t make an antisemite. It is so bad to think that if one ever disagrees with Israeli policies, then it is antisemitism. |
