| Remember when, a week or two after they took him prisoner, Hamas offered to exchange Corporal Shalit for a few hundred women and children held prisoner by Israel? Israel instead launched a massive attack on Gaza. Power Plants were targeted, bridges, ambulances. It was the test of the targeting later used against Lebanon. The sweeps through Gaza produced nothing but Israeli casualties. Much like the massive attack upon Lebanon which followed. Now, in some desperate attempt to save his reputation, Olmert, the man who traded a monster, Kuntar, for bones still is playing games about trading a live Israeli, Corporal Gilad Shalit. for many times the number of Hamas members he once could have traded. I WANT to see Gilad Shalit redeemed and returned to his father Noam. But the monster of Hamas understand just what a fool Olmert is and was. I suspect that Olmert, Barak, Livni and, yes, Netanyahu would rather a dead Gilad than a done deal. He isn`t bones yet, so why redeem him? |
