| DJ, you should learn to read my posts correctly: I didn`t say anything about "kosher slaughte- ring" (which I personally don`t have a problem with...), but rather I was mentioning the so called big "kosher" slaughterhouses, whose meat in many cases surely doesn`t fulfil the high standards of "kosher slaughtering". Actually one would expect that the orthodox community and the Jewish establishment in the U.S. would be up in arms, but strangely I haven`t seen any big demonstrations yet.... By the way, you are correct that there are also (big) problems with animal abuse in "regular" slaughterhouses, however, I would question your claim, that the abuse there is worse than in big "kosher" slaughterhouses. (If you want, you can google the words PETA and Agriprocessors, and you might change your mind on that one afterwards...). |
