| Israel refuses to pay its teachers a working salary. But, hey, look at the fringe benefits - unlimited insults and disruptive classes. What a deal. Religious schools would be the only realistic choice if they taught their students how to make a living, but most don`t. The lack of good schools for my advanced placement son played a big role in shutting down an aliyah attempt last year. People buy homes based on how good the schools are in a neighborhood. They all buy or reject aliyah the same way. Israel needs to blend the two systems, teach Torah to the secular, technology to the religious, and mutual respect to both. http://arkcode.com |
