Let me say that I agree with Mr. Sarid that calling professionals who teach our youth vulgar names is wrong and mean spirited and certainly not becoming of a Rabbi. However, I believe that Mr. Sarid is more than capable of stating his opinion in a way that does not bring religion or orthodoxy into the equation. While I am orthodox, I agree with many of the things that Mr. Sarid has said in the past.I am just disappointed as to why he felt the religion had to be denegrated to make this point. The way to discuss things and improve them is by appealing to everyones sense of propriety. By sarcastically attacking the religion, Mr. Sarid has shown he is no better than that which he complains about.
I truly believe Mr. Sarid has a lot to offer this country. But why become Tommy Lapid???? A "dafkanik" helps no-one on a long term basis. |
