This reveals the whole sordid enterprise of the Occupation, the Wall and
and the settler only highways, which are all illegal under international law.
Surely none of this would have been necessary, had Israel withdrawn to the 1967 borders, and handed the West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinians. Had Israel not held onto these territories by force, not expelled and assassinated Palestinian leaders, not built the colonial settlements and towns, there would not have been the resistance, and the suicide bombings, and would not have had the extremist settlers in Hebron and Elon Moreh.
The answer to all this, is for Israel to withdraw completely to the Green Line, out of annexed East Jerusalem, and accept the Saudi Peace Plane in its entirety. The Wall must come down, the siege on Gaza must end, and negotiations should revolve how quickly to plan and execute this as the only just solution. |
