| The Zionists did not say yes to the UN partition plan: instead they murdered the UN mediator, and opted for an unilateral declaration of independence in direct violation of international law. The only reason the state of Israel received wider diplomatic recognition, was that Stalin realized the long-term benefit to the USSR of instability in the Middle-East, and endorsed the lunatic declaration of a religiously blinded fool (i.e. Truman, who nearly caused the resignation of the outraged architect of the Marshall plan by his folly). With the US and the USSR in connivance in a bipolar world, Britain was left as the only "bad boy" trying to uphold an equitable solution in the region.
