| Prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, black and white children played together and it was accepted by members of both races. As the children matured however, their elders became involved and all of their prejudices were passed on to the young and enforced separation of the childeren along racial lines. As the old saw goes`..you must be taught to hate..`. While these children may play together as equals, they will soon be separated with the Jewish child probably espousing her ethnic superiority while the Arab child learns of her second-class status. Then, when they reach maturity and have children pf their own, the cycle will begin again. Until someone decides to say "No More" and the state and people decide to award equal rights to all as common members of humanity. Unfortunately, in Israel, such time seems a long way off. |
