| It has been impossible for America to promote stability in the mideast through its partnership with Israel. Lately, it has become more obvious that Israel uses American support and ignores American advice and counseling. This has been going on for many years, and, in fact, has promoted the growth of Islamic fundamentalism and regional instability. The greatest potantial to calm the region is by America opening and continuing dialog with Iran. In addition to the obvious benefits, this could have the effect of bringing Israel into the fold. It is time that America looked to American interests and those of the greater world rather than casting these things aside to serve Israels interests. |
