It seems to me that if the International Community really wants to see a Palestinian State, in all sincerity, then the Palestinian State begins w/ Gaza and ending the blockade. Then, at least, we could proceed to the next step, and see how Hamas and Fatah got along, w/out the pressure of a blockade. Here it is that the Palestinians are really halfway there.
They control their cities and the economy in the West Bank. So it`s not really about land. They already have a big chunk of it. Either they become a legitimate state all together, that is Fatah and Hamas, or there is no state. So of course, from Israel`s point of view, better the status quo, and talking and negotiating. Because one doesn`t know how Gazans and Hamas would act if they were free to come and go and given the legitimacy to govern
and let the people run their economy on Gaza`s side, apart from the tunnel economy that is already operating. How long can one keep people
suffocating like that? I don`t know.
