The only difficulty I see is that the over-Orthodox will reject and insult those who convert in this way.
The people living in Israel alongside the Jews, married to Jews, or just born in Israel and observing festivals as part of their daily lives, people who serve in armed forces, people who give allegiance to the state: these are valuable decent people and in fact we don`t see them as different from us in any way. They are part and parcel of Israel. Nobody in Israel asks what religion you are: everyone is accepted in theory as being a Jew unless you make it obvious in some way that you aren`t. |
