Barak clearly has no intention of ever allowing a Palestinian state and also he is thumbing his nose at America as Israel told America that settlement construction would be halted.
With the settlements already in existence there is little hope for a Palestinian state in the WB; with the new construction he has authorised there will be no hope at all.
He is also very short-sighted; many Israelis don`t want settlement expansion; Israel doesn`t need to make any more enemies. Perhaps he is afraid to confront the settlers and is appeasing them insteadand we know what appeasement leads to. Barak is not acting in the best interests of Israel, let alone the Palestinians.
But who can be surprised; one look at his photo reveals a double-faced politician who lies through his teeth and thinks only "short-term". |
