Currently anyone that has a single Jewish grandparent and is not actively participating in another religion is eligible to immigrate to Israel. This is clearly too wide a net, I suggest a slight modification, require at-least one Jewish parent, or be a minor immigrating with the above. The same goes for those married to Jews.
Barring a humanitarian issue, I would also suggest a screening process at the point of origin for those who are not universally recognized as being Jewish. I think with these changes, those who immigrate who are not Jewish will be more sincere, and be more willing to convert and integrate |
