| Any nation which has a "state religion" and bases immigration policy upon that religion cannot call itself a democracy in the same sense that America and western European countries are demoocracies. In a similar fashion, Israel doesn`t have a "left wing" in the same way that America and the western European countries have a left wing. Israels "left wing" has the same relationship to the right wing that the back of a playing card has with the front. Although they face in opposite directions, they are so close together in every way that it takes a special tool to measure the minute distance between them. Of course, it is all relative. It is possible to be a card carrying facist and still be considered a leftie in Israel. Israeli lefties are kind of like bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster. Every now and then, there is a sighting, but there has never been any actual proof that they really exist. |
