Iran obviously is the main player, for as I have written yesterday without Iran the US cannot pull out of Iraq and leave a residual force, that would basically be at the mercy of the Shia. Same applies to Syria, both the US and the British need stronger relations with Syria, however Natallie, here come the difference, Syria cannot wait either, for Syria is surrounded by enemies, not against the Syrian populace, rather more precisely against the Assad (Alawite) Government, by both Iranian proxies, Hezbollah and Hamas. Syria may sell arms to those groups, under pressure from Iran, that is where Ms.Livni is pointing her finger. To my understanding,Syria wants peace with Israel, however they cannot indulge in the abnormal conditions as imposed by Israel, that being the "pre conditions",it will not work, its not safe and even the US and Britain know this. Ms.Livni cannot cross the fine line of diplomacy when it suits her needs, as in this case of open criticism it will only create more tension
