| the point being made is that israel should be buying from its OWN industry with it`s OWN taxpayers money... and not receiving 3 billion-plus annually in american taxpayer money to buy arms from the american military industry. israeli arms manufacturers produce some of the best stuff in the world...yet the israeli military, in many cases, uses american made weapons because they are essentially free... case in point are cluster munitions. the israeli made cluster munitions have a very low failure rate, thus reducing the longterm threat to civilian populations, while the american bomblets have an extremely high rate of failure...and yet israel uses the american made ones because they`re bought with american taxpayer money. there`s no question about israel`s right to sell its weapons products to whomever it sees fit... the question is why is the united states paying israel to buy american weapons? better those billions be spent on the american military...or OTHER "american" needs. |
