Okay enougn of the self flagellation. Israel is doing just fine under the circumstances. The province of Quebec employs barely one percent of allophones despite the fact they are 20% of the population.
Israel employs perhaps 5%-6% Arab Israelis. This despite the fact that this minority doesn`t recognize Israel as a Jewish state. They identify themselves as Palestinian. Symaphize with enemy states on many occasions. As a society they campaign against national projects like national service.
In my opinion I would say that Arab Israelis are the biggest contributors to their second class status. If they actually supported Israel against its many detractors, I have no doubt that Israeli society would be far more inclusive.
Olmert is purposely hurting Livni with all this. |
