| 95% of the civilian populations on both sides in any conflict wish only to lead uncomplicated lives. The children are an especially sad feature. But we must never forget that hostilities are controlled by the rulers on each side. In Israel, the rulers and policies can change with elections. In Gaza, what would Hamas do if 95% of its citizens petitioned for change? My guess is: not much. |
