| Jimmy Carter is a fine man, and was stuck - as his predecessor Jerry Ford, with the immense mess that LBJ and Nixon produced. As a Ford supporter, I guess Carter got what he deserved when he used the hapless position of the Ford administration to depose him. What he got was a near hopeless situation. He failed, in part due to his limitations, in part simply because the US was still recovering from the dual disasters of Johnson and Nixon. There is little he can look back upon and feel was a great success. The peace agreement between Egypt and Israel is that one thing. |
