| I simply do not have enough time to make even a partial listing. For those who are interested, I will give a fairly recent example. In 2006 Hizbollah made a border raid on an Israeli IDF position. They killed several IDF men and captured two. The next morning Israel started bombing Beruit. In the course of this war, Israel targetted apartment blocks, gas stations, banks, bridges, highways, oil tanks, radio and television and other civilian targets throughout Lebanon, including the airport. Sadly, Israel neglected to lavish this sort of attention upon the Hizbollah attackers and allowed them to win the war. During the course of this war, Israel killed 20 times the number of civilians as were killed by Hizbollah. This was not collateral damage. The bombed out areas of south Beruit are a long way from the Hizbollah fighters. Lebanon had no control over Hizbollah, just as the IDF was unable to exert control over Hizbollah. Bombing apartment blocks in Beruit is only one example. |
