Whether it is late or not, Ehud Olmert has done Israel a great favor by saying in no uncertain terms what will have to happen for peace.
Regardless of the totality of his legacy, this is still a very positive note of leadership.
In fact, it would be a good time for Livni to embrace it.
In two years, when Bibi has Israel on the brink of all out regional war, the government will no doubt fail, since it rarely makes it farther than about half the time it is supposed to last anyway.
Then Livni can pick up the pieces. Although the deal won`t be as good as right now if the Israeli`s would just get serious about the Saudi Plan. |
