Given their demonstrated competence when in functioning economies you`d think that the Palestinians could work with the Israelis in forming a strong pair of cooperating states west of the Jordan. If only the Palestinians could neutralize those among them who won`t accept the existence of Israel, and if only the Israelis could neutralize those among them who want to return to what they claim were their borders as of, say, 300 BCE.
Right now, I don`t think any Israeli government would agree to return to the 1967 borders, would they? Netanyahu might actually continue peace negotiations, but only with the plan of their never coming to any conclusion that the Pals could accept. |
