Amira let?s get serious and ask the upper middle class Palestinians that you are evidentially staying with just why they don?t have electricity. Why do the Palestinian people have to suffer? It is easy to end their collective misery today. If they were to stop dreaming of their return to Palestine, stop fighting and accept what they have then maybe they would come out of their nightmare. Just like our extreme right will have to wake up to the non existence of the Greater Israel dream. Maybe there could be peace. Instead of the Hamas importing weapons and wasting money on improved Qassam rockets Maybe they could invest these same funds in improving the infrastructure of Gaza. Why was there flooding after the recent rains? Why is there no medicine in the hospitals? Why do the Egyptians prevent imports of badly needed humanitarian aid? Why are the sick and others in dire need of medical aid not transferred to Egyptian hospitals? Most importantly why should we care?
