Egyptian gas is heavily subsidized by the Egyptian government so it is dirt cheap. Even selling it at 2.50/liter and having to bring it in through a tunnel, people are still making a profit.

Israeli gas is expensive, both because of government taxes and the fact that all of our gasoline has to be reimported from non-OPEC countries.

That`s the reason why Israeli gas is NIS 4 and Egyptian gas NIS 2.50.
