The eviction of this elderly couple who have lived in this house for 50 years is cruel and just another example of blatant ethnic cleansing.
If the al-Kurds would have been Jewish this would never have happened. In fact, with the Absentee Property laws Israel shows what Apartheid state it is, a state which discriminates on ethnic grounds.
In a democratic society the fact that the al-Kurds have lived there for 50 years would have bestowed rights of residence on them. It certainly would have in the Netherlands.
What has happened here is callous beyond belief.
