The `honest broker` misdirection has been waved way to often by self-righteous europeans. Clinton bent over backwards for reviled terrorist Arafat in a mad dash to the Nobel Peace Prize he hoped to earn for peace in the Middle East. Bush has merely let Arabs pay the fair price of their terrorism and terrorist enabling. It`s not a question of liking Israel more (though I`m sure that he prefers a society that values life), it`s a matter of liking terrorists less. You see preferential treatment where there is none. America is a pragmatic capitalist nation whose main concern is its own self-interest. Right now, creating an incentive atmosphere for terrorism does not feature very high on US priorities. |
