AH: "Nevertheless, the general feeling of commentators in Gaza is that Hamas` top priority, in addition to the renewed talks with Fatah in Cairo next week, is to maintain its hold in Gaza" Notice the blatantly contradictory (almost schizoid) nature of this article: 1) Hamas wants to consolidate power. 2) Hamas wants a few more months of quiet. 3) Hamas wants the ceasefire to continue. 4) Hamas wants another Israeli captive. Motive (4) is completely at odds with the other three, because *IF* Hamas did that *THEN* there is no question - Israel would mmediately go gangbusters on Gaza. |
