| i can`t believe that you did not recognize the phrase "chafets chaim" as denoting the saintly author of the mishna brura, codifying jewish law, as well a a number of scholarly and popular works pertaining to social behavior, especially the prohibition against "lashon hara," speaking badly about another person. the term "chafetz chaim" comes from psalms--who is the one who desires life? he who guards his tongue from evil... it is the fervent wish of many orthodox children to be like the chafetz chaim, who passed away in 1933. |
