remember the unconditional withdraw from Gaza and the presents sent to Israel 8.000 times after the liberation of Gaza by Hamas. The Golan were lost for Syria when trying to wipe off Israel.
We will see peace only as soon the Golan are used by Syrian tourists like all others coming for hiking skiing and enjoying the peace of nature. Assadīs Syria getting back the Golan would plant rockets instead trees and wait for her chance to get what they missed in 1973.
Hiding behind their cunning mask of peace the steady Syrian whining about the Golan makes me sick. And nothing whatever the West would guarantee would take Assad out of the orbit of Iran not really.
Any treaties with him are not worth the paper written on and would be instantly forgotten about as soon Assad would make out something better for him. Giving back the Golan makes not the prerequisite for peace. Not even against "peace". |
