| Every month that goes by sees an increase in size of Israels footprint in the west bank. This is pure profit. In the event of peace, not only will Israel stop seeing this profit, but Israel will have to return all the profits made in the past using this scheme. This does not motivate Israel toward peace, which explains why there never has been anything close to peace for decades. Rice must have an ulterior motive to go to Israel. The Israeli government scoffed at Bush when be pressed for peace 8 months ago. There is no chance that they will even listen now that Bush is counting the days until "retirement". When Israel stops profiting by avoiding peace there may be some progress. Until then, Rice should not waste her time. It makes America look bad to go "hat in hand" to Israel and get slapped around every time. |
