They are the majority of the Golans population and they live peacefully with their druze naighbors.
The term settlers is misleading in many cases.
The Golan, Malleh Adumim, Ariel and the other big settlements in Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem they are home to tens of thousands of jews some have lived there for generations now.
The Golan was never supposed to be in Syrian hands it was allways supposed to go to the jewish homeland and was part of Palestine but the British illigaly traded it to the French who had the mandates over Syria & Lebanon in exchange for Mousal with which the British added to the other Iraqi provinces they controled, brought in Faisal of Mecca from Arabia made him king of Iraq and the British oil companies got the rights to drill all the newly discovered Iraqi oil.
The Golan is Israeli & Jewish territory rightfully & historicly and Israels strategic interests depend on keeping it. |
