Time is running out. You in the US may not feel that since you live in a country which may absorb multiple nuclear blasts and still survive. I do not. I do not wish to see a mushroom cloud outside my window.
How probable is this? If Israel does not stop it – very.

Bernard Lewis is not some off the wall analyst, but someone who has spent all his life researching Islam.
So there is no other way around this. Israel has to do it or we are in trouble. The US after the NIE has tied its hands and the US probably will rely on Israel to do what Israel has no other choice but to do. The US can always procrastinate and react after being attacked.
Basically, I believe that it is in the US interest for Israel to destroy the Iranian nuclear sites since the destruction and the rise in oil prices coming from a non nuclear Iranian retaliation to Israel destroying the Iranian strikes is still much less than the consequences of a nuclear war following an Iranian nuclear strike on Israel and an Israeli nuclear retaliation. Obama wants to talk to the mullahs.
With Obama in power Israel`s options will be much more limited. Coordination with the US will be much more difficult. Obama will waste precious time in trying to establish contact with the mullahs. A repeat of the dangerous 1933-1939 road, so brilliantly described in Churchill`s The Gathering Storm . An almost identical thinking is transpiring today.
