Have never lived in an agrarian society.
What now exists as a country and rock music event, with rodeo riding as entertainment, the Houston Rodeo, started as a livestock show.
It still called the `Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
But the show animals are not the main event anymore.
I suspect most of you hear the word `Texas" and you think Western Cattle Barons, but the truth is much of West Texas lacks sufficient rain to run cattle.
Out in Sutton County, sheep and goats abound.
Do not scoff at a hardy animal which can survive where you would starve. |
