Prostitution in Israel is legal, or at least tolerated. What is illegal is pimping. The problem, as you can see from this article, is that pimps try to keep their business at any cost. Many foreign women are smuggled into Israel to work as prostitutes. The mistake of the Israeli police is that they just catch the girls and deport them instead of jailing the pimps. Why ($$$) ???
