| #1 says "in most cases if one tries to convert to Judaism with a Orthodox rabbi for marriage one is turned away." This is not true. It depends on the circumstances, but in most cases if the applicant seems sincere in his or her commitment to observe all of halacha the conversion will be allowed, even if the ultimate reason is for marriage. The applicant must understand that the commitment he or she must make is binding for life, even if the relationship breaks up; if the bet din is convinced that the applicant accepts that, there is no reason not to proceed with the conversion. |
