Hello Swiss (Dino), I find that such an even split in populations, more or less, is characteristic of many democracies: United States (Democrats vs. Republicans), Canada (Liberals vs. Conservatives)etc. Israel seems to be somewhat similar, yet more overtly the right-minded vs. a left-minded bring persuasive arguments. Yet, it`s taken almost 2 decades for the left-minded to influence the right-minded, eg. Ariel Sharon, Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni, etc. to positions of moderation and compromises. And of course, that`s governmental leaderships but who knows about what this translates to the ordinary citizens and their perspectives on this contentious issues. All I do know is that voting for Likud means moving backwards not forwards. BTW, wasn`t it Sigmund Freud who stated anatomy was everything - right-brained vs. left-brained...you know. |
