| Yishai sees it as one thing, the secular parties as another. The level of knowledge in the areas of science and the humanities, literature in religious schools, not only in Israel, is generally deplorable. Their teachers see these subjects as undermining the foundations of faith and even worse, a form of "narishkeit" "bizbuz ze`man", a waste of time. Music is limited if it consists of hearing a woman sing. And the result? Just look at those coming out of this educational track and their ability to manage in a global environment. |
