Haaretz keeps saying "Shas the Sepharadic Ultra Orthodox Party", and yet, though it`s true that Shas, like Mapai or Ahdut Haavuda which were mostly Ashkenaze and Secular Parties, Shas is very mixed and the people that are leading negociations with Kadima are without exception Ashkenazes. Are token members like Mapai and Akhdut Haavuda used to have token Sepharads?! who knows, but in a Democracy there is a need for differents opinions. life styles, belives or lack of them: and they ought to be respected otherwise is the Dictatorship of one sided Robespieering of norm in Israel. Let the show starts and lets have elections so that the best and the diversity wins. |
